Does dying your hair cause it to turn grey?

I have a friend who has been dying her hair since she was 11. And she dyes it colours like blue and purple and pink, like the kind of dye from Sallys. Can this cause it to go grey? Because she went grey when she was 16. Would all the dye do that? And if it does, can your hair go grey with normal coloured dyes?

Nahh, dying your hair doesn't make it turn gray. Gray hair is

usually cause by stress, or to much going on in someones

life. Dying your hair is only on the hair that is already there, it

can't do anything to the hair that hasn't formed yet!

i have never heard of that its possible that she wore her hair out dying it so many different colors in a short period of time or it could have just been a reaction from the colors being put on top of each other. Not sure but if it bothers her too much she could just dye it a normal color like brown.

Hair dye can damage hair, or make it fall out, but if it grows in grey, that's just nature. At least it's still growing! I have friends whose hair started turning in their teens, I got my own first few grey strands when I was nineteen.
