How can I color my hair at home?

I am 13, and i want to add a funky color to my hair. I have dark brown hair, and brown eyes. I dont want to spend 30 dollars on dye! I did that last year, and it came out a flamingo pink. This time, i want a bright pink! What can i use to do this? Is there anything i can do? Suggestions PLEASE!!

I seriously do recommend going to the salon, only because you will need to bleach your hair first in order to get a vibrant color.

I have done lots of coloring on my own...I recommend the Loreal line - test out their color rays http://www.lorealparis.ca/en/haircolor/i... They will work on your dark hair.

http://www.haircareusa.com/fudge_paintbo... Fudge is decent...I was never a big fan. To keep your color vibrant you will have to frequently redye your hair. And you will need to apply this over bleached hair.

Good luck. To bleach your hair, a bottle of hydrogen peroxide (from the hair aisle, NOT the cleaning aisle) is the cheapest option. Dump it on your hair, wait up to (not over) 45 minutes - as soon as your hair is bright orange, wash the bleach out. Condition your hair heavily. It's better if you wait a day, but if not, then move forth with the funky dye.

If you're new at doing your own hair, see if your mom could help you out. I've had a couple oppsies where the back of my head wasn't fully dyed.

First off: EWE you should not do that. i HATE it when ppl dye their hair!!! its just gross and is not NATURAL!! (they are also fake)

but anyway. you get the dye from walmart (not that stuff that has ash in it) and you follow the directions in the box. the stuff usually costs $7-10
