My daughter is half white and half black. It gets frizzy very easily. I can put gel in it, and it won't get frizzy, but it will be hard. I can try oil (like pink lotion) and it will stay good for an hour or so, but then frizz up. I have tried hair products especially for frizzy hair, and for ethnic hair. Nothing works. Any ideas?

My hair is more than likely similar to your daugther's and I also use gel. While my hair does get hard, it works, so I deal with it.
Another mother here asked the same question, so I'm going to copy-paste my reponse to yours, okay?

First invest in a good shampoo that address curls and frizz. John Frieda, Tresemme, Marc Anthony (not the singer!), and Mizani work well. You also need to find a good *thick* cream conditioner that is specially made for frizz. I suggest Herbal Essence None of Your Frizzness because it works like a dream for me. You may also need a Detangler and I suggest Paul Mitchell Detangler for that.
Next, the topic of brushing. Curly hair actually does not like brushes because they create frizz. Also *DO NOT BRUSH HER HAIR WHEN IT'S DRY.* I'm not yelling at you, but they don't have bold text on this thing. Brushing dry hair is a big mistake because it makes the curls into a poofy, frizzy mess and may hurt your daugther's scalp (I'm guessing she's tender-headed like many curly-hair girls). Only brush her hair when it is wet and do not use a hard bristle brush.
Actually, with curls, you would do better without brushing. Combs are best for curls. The only time you need a brush is when you're pulling her hair back and are applying pomade or pink lotion
Here are some sites for where you can buy shampoos, conditoners, pomades, gels, and brushes/combs that you might need for your daugther's hair. You can buy any of these products are your nearest Walgreens, CVS, or Wal-Mart.

Multi-racial hair?
LoL
I have the same type of Hair!
I also use Pink Hair Lotion ,Too!
and it works for maybe 1-2 hours
and then my hair starts to become
frizzy again.....
I usually try to straighten my hair
every day,when you straighten it
it'll stay straight for maybe 2-4 days.
But I usually re-straighten it b/c
some of my hair wasn't straightened
enough as the rest of it,and it turns wavy.
As a Result of straightening the Biracial
hair is easier to comb, and brush and
it also looks really good!
If you want to learn more about

Multi-racial hair?
How old is your daughter??
Also. Try going to a hair salon and ask them for the solution that make people's hair straight... She just adds that to her hair everyday and see if that helps tame it.

Multi-racial hair?
my cousin uses the pink hair lotion and it didn't work for her either.
she straightens it and it stays like that for a few days.
she can partially straighten it and then use some lotion and it kinda curls back. i think it looks good when she does that.
